I'd wanted a "Mac style" desktop for years when I finally stumbled onto this program. I love it! Once running, you can right click to add icons or drag and drop them where you want them. With literally hundreds of user contributed addons, you can have additional functions like the ability to hide the Windows taskbar, clocks and more.
Since you can set it to auto-hide, I don't agree with the listed con that says it intrudes on the desktop.
The link below is a screenshot of my desktop with my custom icons showing. Set to auto-hide, there is nothing but my wallpaper showing.
